    With an academic background in Law and communications, David has unrivalled experience of working both in Government and the private sector in Northern Ireland. A Special Adviser and Press Secretary to former First Minister David Trimble during the peace talks which led to the Good Friday Agreement and the formation of the Northern Ireland power-sharing Government between 1996 and 2002, David was responsible for managing all aspects of the First Minister's communications.

    Since then he has amassed over 10 years of experience in the private sector and has established himself as an industry leader when it comes to devising and implementing public affairs, community and stakeholder engagement strategies for development projects and objection campaigns relating to retail, residential, commercial, energy infrastructure, healthcare, education, finance and renewable energy.

    David has played key advisory roles in various projects for major clients such as NIE, Strategic Investment Board, ESB Wind Development UK, University of Ulster, Coca Cola, Diageo, Argos, Corbo, Northern Ireland Hospice and George Best Belfast City Airport.

    Daniel graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with a BSc Honours degree in Environmental Planning. During his time at University he worked closely with Councillors and MLAs on various election campaigns, policy and constituency issues. His political experience means he has an excellent understanding of communications, the structures of Government and decision making processes as well as the Northern Ireland Planning System.

    Since joining Strategic Planning Daniel has been involved in and overseen a range of campaigns for some of Northern Ireland’s most high-profile development proposals. He advises clients on media and political engagement at all levels in Northern Ireland and has amassed extensive experience in statutory Pre-Application Community Consultation since its introduction in 2015, particularly in relation to strategic infrastructure projects.

    Projects of note that Daniel has worked on include SONI’s proposed North-South Electricity Interconnector; Omagh Minerals Ltd.’s underground gold mine at Cavanacaw, Omagh; and the objection campaign against arc21’s proposed 300,000 ton waste incinerator at Mallusk.

  • John Fullerton

    John graduated in Law from the University of Dundee in 2009 and also holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Edinburgh.

    Following the completion of his studies he took up a policy role with a political party at the Northern Ireland Assembly where he managed a workload spanning all aspects of Assembly business including several Statutory Committees. During this time he worked on numerous pieces of legislation and played a central role in policy development.

    Subsequently, he worked as the Northern Ireland Policy Adviser for the Federation of Small Businesses. As part of his remit John covered all relevant devolved areas including planning, energy, public procurement and retail as well as representing the organisation on a number of external bodies.

    Since joining Strategic Planning, John has carried out statutory Pre-Application Community Consultation requirements for several major projects. He has also taken forward public affairs strategies and community consultation for a variety of clients such as the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, TG Eakin, Pritchitt Foods and Corbo.

    Accounts Manager

    Since obtaining an Honours degree in Business Administration, Carolynn has amassed over 6 years of experience in accounts and administration management. She is responsible for the finance and accounts administration within Strategic Planning.

    Office Manager

    Polly has a BSc Honours degree in Social Psychology and has since gained over 10 years of experience in customer service, finance and administration. Polly manages the office administration and ISO 9001 quality control mechanisms, as well as supporting Carolynn in managing client accounts.
